If you want to beat the winter blues – and the recent weather does require an effort at times to feel cheery – you have to go outside and top up on fresh air and nature. I have just returned from a walk on the Moor – put Ebony in the car to meet a friend and her mates ( two retrievers) – and had a walk round Anstey Common with a good deal of blowing off the cobwebs and letting off steam. And nothing is better when then you get back to your homely place with a good fire and a cup of tea.
Last week I offered both a cup of tea and the cosy fire (showing off the new wood burner in Anstey Mills Cottage) to our tourist board inspector and it seemed to do the trick. Suitably impressed with the new fireplace as well as new curtains and tables etc in the Thatched Cottage as well as the usual excellent standard she rewarded us with the 4 star gold award we have received now since 2010.
So what are you waiting for? Come and book your share of Exmoor magic.
